LIME KILN DUST

Stabilize, Solidify, Dry, Remediate

Lime Kiln Dust (LKD) is a co-product of the lime
manufacturing industry. Its chemical makeup of
quicklime, silicates and other reactive and inert
materials make it uniquely suitable for:

.. soil stabilization (with certain soil types)

.. soil drying and conditioning

.. industrial waste stabilization / remediation

.. agricultural use

The proper application and use of Lime Kiln Dust will ensure that the client obtains maximum economic benefit. Especially with soil stabilization and soil conditioning materials, over-application does not necessarily lead to increased benefits.

In addition, applying materials when conditions are problematic, such as in high winds or cold weather, can inhibit their effectiveness and increase safety and environmental risks. For these reasons, Gilmour & Company will provide input on when to apply and when not to apply its products.

Percent free lime (available CaO) for Lime Kiln Dust is typically 20 to 30%.
Lime Kiln Dust is spread to dry rain soaked soil.
Lime Kiln Dust is spread
over and mixed into rain-
soaked soil to dry it out
immediately so the
construction project can
continue.
